Finance – Program Lead - Business Requirements (Finance and Risk)

Experience:

Deep Securities Finance expert, Investment Banking background, 10 – 20 years industry experience. Accounting, Brokerage or Buy-side finance/control, Derivatives and Securities product knowledge, “Change the Bank" analysis and design, Team leadership & Stakeholder relationship management

(Dec to Jan 2019)

  • Hold detailed workshops with Finance team to understand current business flows, pain points
  • Complete Level 0 requirements for overall stream and establish high level design for future GL / sub GL dependencies

(Feb to End 2019)

  • Complete level 1 requirements
  • Manage BA resource to deliver Level 2 requirements for details below
  • Create Global table by entity, identifying country level specific finance requirements
  • Determine exceptions required and agree dashboard presentation of tasks management

Back Office 2

The mission of Back Office 2 is to support the digitizing of the customer bank Offering and to deliver post trade requirements as a managed service. By 2020 the bank (direct clients) will be the first client of a multi-tenant service that can also be operated independently by white label clients. Back Office 2 covers the following Operations Streams:

  • Party and Product Reference Data
  • Cash Payments & Liquidity & FX
  • Securities Settlement
  • Derivatives Processing
  • Asset Servicing
  • Tax
  • Custody
  • Reconciliation & Operations Control
  • Finance & Risk
  • Net Liquidity

Finance Lead Role

Oversight of the target operating model, requirements gathering and functional design for the Back Office 2 sub-ledger including the integration of the sub-ledger with upstream/downstream consumers.

One of the main focus areas will be group reporting. The sub-ledger will be required to support the operational processes above and client custody record using a multi-entity structure that supports trade date/value date and settlement date reporting. . Key components of the sub-ledger will include:

  • Group Reporting
  • Multi-Entity Posting Driver Rules (event Explode) across Securities, CFD, Listed Derivatives, Deposits and Free Cash
  • Transaction Capture (payments, settlement, asset servicing)
  • Client Data (CRM)
  • Stock Accrual Postings
  • Cash Accrual Postings
  • TD,VD,SD Views of balances and transactions (Client and Firm)
  • Actual and Contractual Settlement
  • Reversals
  • Inventory Management & Stock Loan
  • FX Processing
  • Operations Control Reporting
  • Cash Projection
  • Stock Projection
  • Collateral
  • Interest
  • Inbound and outbound data feeds
  • Regional (APAC, EMEA, US) Close

The requirements and design will be heavily influenced by the Back Office 2 Operations streams that the sub-ledger will be required to support. The Finance Lead will be required to gather requirements from these streams and ensure that the accounting design dovetails with the operational process requirements. In addition, it will be key to analyze and broker the differentiation of accounting/booking functions between The Front Office, the Sub-Ledger and the General Ledger, to avoid duplication and to facilitate the integration of these components with Back Office 2. This will require close co-ordination with the appropriate teams from Finance and Trading.
