Product Management Specialist M/F

Reporting to our Product Manager, the ideal freelance candidate brings the right combination of qualifications, experience, passion and resourcefulness to help us take our product department to the next level.

Position Summary
Provide support to the Product Management department to ensure efficient, timely and accurate monitoring and updating of vendor information, part numbers, product information and pricing in our systems and placement of sample/demo orders with vendors.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
· Verify and create part numbers in our ERP system
· Verify pricing, description and vendor information is accurate
· Maintain product information integrity in our systems
· Create and update customer/vendor specific pricing related to part numbers and material groups
· Update product pricing on a single or mass update basis
· Verify and create vendor master files in ERP system
· Update and maintain products and product information displayed on websites and customer portals
· Place and track demo/sample orders
· Manage customer special stock—receive, post and communicate with customer on status
· Manage offsite locations’ stock receipt for in-house installation—post and communicate order information to scheduling
· Find or request product images for image library—used for website, catalog & marketing
· Research and identify potential new products to fulfill specific customer requirements
· Execute product information update projects
· Assist with testing and development of new website initiatives
· Act as backup for purchasing and assist during peak times create, maintain corrections/revisions and release purchase orders, review and approve PO acknowledgements, record and request spiff payments, problem solve PO, product & cost issues with customer service and vendors
· Assist with stock backorder reporting
· Assist with catalog proofing
· Assist with preparation of clearance events

Education and Experience
· Excel experience (vlookups)
· Proficient in relevant computer software (MS Office applications, Outlook, database systems)
· Experience with retail math
· 1-3 years product, purchasing, inventory or accounting experience in retail or wholesale environment
